Utips Homework

Homework will now include Utips along with nightly reading and keyboarding. The link below will take you to my Utips page. Just follow the instructions there.  Remember to do your best. If you score below 85%, please take it again. If you don't see a test, I haven't opened it yet. Each week I will open new tests.

Note to Parents: I have walked the students through the process and they have practiced at school so they know what to do.

Animal Reports

When Jane Goodall was a child, she dreamed about going to Africa. Her mother laughed because they didn't have any money, but as a young woman, she went to Tanzania and entered the world of the chimpanzees. All she had was a notebook and binoculars. Through quiet observation and patience, she earned the trust of a group of chimpanzees and now she is the "voice" for this amazing species.

"Only if we understand, can we care."

The next several weeks you have the opportunity to learn about an animal and write a report. Mr. DeLong said the rough draft is due in a couple of weeks, so get started right away. I will give you the tools to make this an enjoyable experience. Today, you learned how to outline the information  and write down your sources. Please use the outline form I gave you today. I found a couple of websites that might be helpful for you to use and you can find the links below. Don't forget to use Webpath Express like Mrs. Fillerup showed you and Pioneer Library too. I can't wait to here about all the wonderful things you find out about your animal. In the next few days we will continue to write a class report, so that you understand the process. Please do not choose a giant panda since that is the animal we are learning about in class.
